Help me find a good bed that suits my “expectations”?

I’m looking for a good bed to buy for my room, because I’m going to renovate over the summer. I’m looking for a full size bed, that’s black (or has a really dark finish) , that has storage (or room for storage boxes underneath), and has a sleek, modern, contemporary look. It would be awesome if it had a headboard of some sort. (Sorry for being picky… XD )

My mom said it’d be good if it was solid wood, but what are the pros and cons of using solid wood? What about engineered woods? (Other than price) We live in a humid town.

Sorry for all the vague questions… XD

Here are some beds I kinda like:

Storage is nice, but most beds with drawers aren’t made to take everyday use. Usually the store display drawers fall apart and/or won’t pull in and out the way they should. If you see this in a store you will see it at home.

You’ll save money and frustration if you buy a bed without drawers but enough room underneath for sliding plastic drawers or plastic boxes. I’ve done this with my bed setup for a lot of years and it works great. They’re light weight and slide out easily. Or move to another location.

As for pros and cons of solid wood, drawer boxes (part that holds clothes) are usually not made of solid wood. They’re likely made of plywood, particleboard, micro-density fiberboard (MDF), or other. All varying qualities. Drawer fronts (part with the pull attached) are more likely to be constructed of solid wood. In general, if no moving parts (such as drawers) you can get by with a less expensive piece.

Engineered woods, won’t add much comment. You get what you pay for. If they’re equal the quality of real wood, costs will likely be comensurate.
