What are these things insect called? picture included?
outside my house is like the tiny insects that are super small, are like ants with a super soft, thick, gray / white (I think I might be able to camouflage) shell. I have no idea what they are. are like crawling around my yard (no grass) and seems to be through the woods and walls. termites that are not .. that do not resemble them. no wings or anything. sometimes I am in a gray sometimes I find it blank. is not necessarily a shell, but it seems it is. I have found a crawl and then touched me, and then hid inside the sort of thing for a time sheet. there is plenty of them out of my garden and I do not like them around … Do you know what these things? (not even sure if it's a bug ..) http://www.flickr.com/photos/41102123 pic @ N08/3779311147 /
They seem to be the larva of the moth uterella Phereoeca or casebearer home. The "shell" which is really the case of laptops of larva builds to protect itself as long as they feed and pupate. Inside the box is lined with silk, the exterior is covered with small particles of sand, rust, or other available materials (hence the different colors). They feed primarily on spider webs and other webs. So cleaning the cobwebs will help you get rid of them. Otherwise, simply sweep or vacuum up and then dispose of them.
