Blue Ribbon Campaign
Show your support by displaying blue ribbons wherever you can:
- At Home - around a tree, porch post, mailbox, etc.
- Your Car - on your antenna
- On You - around your wrist, neck or as a lapel pin
- Anywhere - be creative, display blue ribbons anywhere others will see them
By participating you will easily and inexpensively be strengthening the larger voice, and together with the 1,000's of other blue ribbons that will be displayed you will be saying:
- Builders should step forward immediately and agree they will fix this problem on the new homes they've built.
- Government officials should swiftly investigate and revise building codes to ensure this doesn't happen on any homes being built now and in the future.
- Home building in FL should be addressed in general to ensure our residents are getting quality homes - there should be a better balance between building homes affordably/profitably and where those savings are found by the builders and their subcontractors - don't cut corners that will make homes leak!
You can easily buy blue ribbon at the craft store, fabric store and in the gift wrap section of any discount or grocery store - buy, share, spread the word.
Won't This Hurt Our Resale Value?
But that's just the point! Your resale value has already been impacted or will be impacted because there is water coming into nearly all new homes!
In addition, once new building codes to address this problem go into affect, buyers may be wary about homes built before the code's enactment unless they are repaired in accordance with the new codes.
That said, we understand your concern and hope that you will still participate. The more people that are involved, the more quickly builders will be pressured to remedy the situation and the more quickly our lives can get back to normal.
